About the Journal
Aims and Scope
EJMN is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal for research on human health and on the natural and pharmaceutical sciences behind it. It publishes original research, review articles, case studies and short communications from researchers and practitioners worldwide, and welcomes work that connects clinical practice, public health and the natural sciences.
Medicine cannot be thought of in isolation from other disciplines: advances in technology, environmental change and new patterns of disease and behaviour call for interdisciplinary answers. EJMN therefore brings together clinical, public-health, pharmaceutical and natural-science research.
The topics for EJMN cover but are not limited to the following.
- Clinical medicine, surgery and rehabilitation: diagnosis, treatment, case reports, physiotherapy
- Dentistry and oral health
- Pharmacy and pharmacology: drug utilisation, adverse reactions, pharmaco-economics, pharmaceutical formulation, medicines safety and regulation
- Natural products and biotechnology: bioactive compounds, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, marine and plant sources, biomaterials, ethnobotany
- Public health and epidemiology: infectious disease, vaccination, antimicrobial resistance, maternal and child health, health inequalities, pandemics
- Health systems: management, leadership, economics, quality and patient safety, patient satisfaction
- Mental health and clinical psychology: clinical and psychotherapeutic research
- Health law, bioethics and patients’ rights
- Environmental health and ecology
- Medical and nursing education
- Sport and exercise science
- History of medicine and traditional medicine, treated in a scholarly, evidence-based way
Outside the scope
Manuscripts without a clear link to health, medicine or the natural sciences are outside the scope of EJMN. Examples are finance, marketing and consumer behaviour, fashion, general organisational psychology, theology or philosophy as such, and legal or economic studies unrelated to health or the environment.
All manuscripts submitted to EJMN that pass the initial assessment are reviewed double-blind by at least two independent reviewers. We invite contributions from researchers, academics and practitioners worldwide.
