About the Journal

Aims and Scope

The European Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (EJMS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research and scholarly reviews across the social sciences and humanities and their applied fields. It provides an international forum for researchers, academics and practitioners whose work crosses disciplinary boundaries, in law and public administration, management, sociology, education, politics and history, psychology, economics, and media and the arts, and it welcomes empirical, theoretical, historical, comparative and policy-oriented work, provided the manuscript is written in English.

EJMS publishes work that explains how institutions, organisations, communities and individuals function and change. It values studies that connect two or more fields, or that bring the method of one discipline to a problem of wider public concern. Its authors write from more than thirty countries, and it welcomes contributions on local and national cases as well as comparative and international studies.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to)

EJMS is interdisciplinary rather than tied to a single field. It accepts quantitative studies (surveys and statistical analysis), qualitative studies (interviews and case studies), legal and documentary analysis, historical research, conceptual and theoretical work, and literature reviews. Health is welcome when it is studied as a social, legal, economic or behavioural subject, for example health policy, health communication or the health professions and the labour market. Clinical medicine, nursing practice, pharmacy, the treatment of mental illness, sport science and the natural and engineering sciences are outside the scope of EJMS and are declined at the initial assessment; manuscripts in those fields are better suited to our sister journal, the European Journal of Medicine and Natural Sciences.

All manuscripts submitted to EJMS that pass the initial assessment are reviewed double-blind by at least two independent reviewers. We invite contributions from researchers, academics and practitioners worldwide.
